This on-demand webinar explores how interconnected KYC tools help organisations build onboarding journeys that are efficient today and resilient for the future.
What if the secret to a faster, more compliant customer onboarding wasn’t hiring more manual reviewers, but a smarter ecosystem?
This was the central theme of Smarter KYC with Finologee: IDnow x LSEG, a recent webinar exploring how financial services companies can move beyond rigid, manual KYC processes and adopt workflows actually designed for scale.
Finologee, IDnow’s partner and a leading digital platform operator in Luxembourg, supports regulated industries with secure, compliant digital solutions. As Finologee’s identity verification partner, IDnow provides automated identity verification that is seamlessly integrated into Finologee’s ecosystem. This allows financial institutions to incorporate document verification, liveness detection and biometric identity checks into their onboarding journeys in a streamlined and compliant way, without adding operational complexity.
The webinar featured perspectives from Jonathan Prince, Co-founder & CSO at Finologee, and Stefan Kirsch, Head of Business Development at Finologee, alongside Arnaud Gallut, Digital Identity Consultant at IDnow, and Piet Craenen from LSEG Risk Intelligence. Together, they shared how an integrated KYC ecosystem helps institutions accelerate onboarding, strengthen compliance and reduce operational pressure.
What we discussed in the webinar
Kicking off the session, Jonathan Prince from Finologee highlighted the move towards automation in KYC and AML processes, while noting integration and interoperability remain the biggest challenges. In a quick survey, attendees shared insights on identity verification, screening practices and digitising KYC. Results showed that although many institutions are adopting digital tools, 57% still struggle with connecting systems, underlining the need for further innovation.
Afterwards, Arnaud Gallut from IDnow outlined how (automated) identity verification helps financial institutions comply, mitigate risk and scale efficiently. He emphasized the need for future-ready solutions capable of addressing all types of fraud, including emerging threats such as synthetic identities and deepfakes. Arnaud also shared real-world use cases from IDnow’s customers, illustrating the measurable impact such a solution can have on onboarding speed, operational efficiency and overall customer experience.
Concluding the discussion, Piet from LSEG Risk Intelligence reminded the audience of a golden rule: working smarter, not harder. He explained how enriched, analyst-verified data and AI-driven monitoring can help institutions identify both obvious and hidden risks more effectively across onboarding and ongoing due diligence. Piet also noted that granularity can support with more precise and focused screening while reducing operational effort.
After each section, Finologee included a demo of each solution within Finologee’s KYC Manager.
The biggest takeaways from the webinar
If you didn’t catch the live session but still want the insights that matter, here are the core takeaways from the discussion:
1. The future of KYC is data-based and interoperable
During the initial survey it became apparent that integration and interoperability remain major challenges for most financial institutions. The message was clear: automation alone isn’t enough, systems must connect to deliver real value.
2. Identity verification must be future-proof
As regulatory requirements and user expectations continue to evolve and fraud keeps finding new loopholes, it is clear that financial institutions need future-ready solutions that address onboarding challenges in real-time.
3. Screening & monitoring need to be smart and detailed
Only detailed, granular data can help compliance teams uncover subtle risk signals that might otherwise go unnoticed. By providing richer context and finer detail, institutions can identify both obvious and hidden risks more effectively across onboarding and ongoing monitoring.
