The Association of German Banks (Bankenverband) continues to drive forward the partnership between banks and fintech companies. “There are plenty of opportunities for cooperation between banks and fintechs. So we, as an association, want to link both worlds more closely and have opened up more to companies from the fintech scene,” said Michael Kemmer, the Association’s general manager, with the new Digital Banking Project Committee launched today in mind.
Mr Kemmer stressed: “Digital offerings are a key issue for the future for both banks and fintechs. The growth potential is enormous.” To drive forward digitisation as a cross-cutting issue, the association now has a Digital Banking Project Committee, a high-level body comprising bank Chief Digital Officers (CDOs) and leading figures from the German fintech scene. For this, the association can now also count on 11 fintech companies as extraordinary members.
